Schlieren Imaging
A simple schlieren imaging set up to better understand before scaling up for CLGG imaging

In an effort to image the exhaust and projectile coming out of my combustion light gas gun as well as the exhaust from my rocket engines to better understand the systems and see if there were any issues or improvements I could make, I created a very simple and rudimentary schlieren imaging set up and tested it with matches and a lighter. While this set up wasn't the best and definitely could be improved, a more collimated light source, better lens and camera as well as a knife edge would yield much better results, I was able to get some results and see the heat rising from the flames.
The next time I do this I will follow a set up very similar to the video linked below.
